just not enough TIME!!

OMG - I feel like I'm drowning! there just isn't enough time in the day - well, maybe there's enough hrs, just not enough useable ones!
There are so many things I want/need to get done - from mowing the lawn, to scrapbooking to taking a friggin shower! and NOTHING is getting done...rrrrr
now don't get me wrong...I don't stink or anything ;), I just want to be able to take a loooong shower, not a 2minute one - I want to be able to dry and maybe even flat iron my hair *and* have time to get dressed too - without having an 18mth old leach grabbing and tearing around while I"m doing it..
every time I sit at the computer, he's here, typing with me, or grabbing my hands or moving my chair...(I have him sat in front of the tv at the moment...not great since it's only 8am...but I've had a whole 3mins of silence!)
and I wanna scrapbook dammit! trying to scrapbook during the day is pointless - and by the time the wee monster is in bed, I'm so exhausted, even the thought of pulling paper out of my cupboard is enough to send me to the couch with the PVR..*sigh*

BUT - there's light at the end of my tunnel! Fred is on leave, starting tonight - woooohooooo - I may finally *finally* get a break - he's been working long hrs this week, plus has been studying for hours after Xander goes to bed - so I've barely seen him - but tonight will be my FREEDOM! I've got 2 bottles of wine (a his and hers lol) the sun is shining, the back lawn will get mowed this evening - and I plan to have my bottle of wine with my butt firmly planted in a patio chair whether I'm alone or in good company I don't care! It's VACATION!!!

May Creative Scrappers Sketches!

I got all four Creative Scrappers sketches finished this month :) I'm very happy about that!
Here they are

Sketch #102

This one has hidden journaling under the lg pic at the top

sketch #103

this one was so much fun to do - the 'clear' bubbles are a transparency - I inked the edges blue to give them some dimension and so they would show up against the white

Sketch #104

do you sense are urgency to getting the baby album finished!?! thanks to these sketches and the crop and challenges at Skrap n Chat, I'm now officially done! woohooo - this was one of the last ones

Sketch #105

now that the baby album is finished,
I can get back to trying to catch up in the kids school albums! Here's Em's pic from this year - using leftover bits from the basic grey bloom and grow potm kit - and the little goodie bag I *won* at class yesterday :) I painted and inked the chipboard flowers, used some homemade glitz spray (that looks nicer IRL and made another felt flower - thanks again Suzie Q for the technique! :)

I did it!!!

I've finished my Week in the Life album!!!! This project has taken me from elation, excitement and joy, to frustration, sadness and...frustration!! lol but it is the most rewarding album I've ever finished - I absolutely love the finished project - it's not 'pretty' and not creative - it's just pictures and words with a bit of flair - it's going to be the most cherished albums on the shelf! Because of that - I've decided to do monthly layouts in the same format - starting with this year and working my way backwards - it's a lot of planning and organizing up front, but the putting together is much faster and easier than my usual scrapbooking - then my 'ordinary' pictures will be documented and I can concentrate on scrapbooking the pictures I love

here's the linke for my Week in the Life album

this weeks layouts

I've been scrappin a bit this week- actually did 2 layouts yesterday! that's rare! Hoping to get another one done tonight - but we shall see...I'm on a mission to use the Creative Scrappers Sketches - I was going to go in order, but I'm all over the place right now -- I've downloaded them, and will print them off and cross them out as I do them...I like that I can go to the blog and check out ones that are already done with the sketch....

For Xander's baby album Sketch #97
Saturday's Basic Grey Page of the month Class - I kinda screwed up a bit - the left hand 'purple' piece was supposed to be wider..but she was giving the measurements to someone else while I was cutting and cut without thinking...ugh...turns out it worked better for my pictures this way - oh - and I used this really cool journaling think from Creative Memories that the instructor had - it looks like a ruler with wire loops at the top - anyone have one? better yet, anyone know how I can get my hands on one????

Sketch #93 Xander's baby album is so close to being finished!!! I can't wait!
this lo was for Tracey's April Challenge at SNC

Sketch #76 but I lifted Mia Caniza's take on the sketch
this one was for Janet's April challenge :)

Day 3 - TGIM

while most people look forward to Fridays - I usually look forward to mondays! I can get back into my routine, put things back in their places (once I find them!) and have a bit of time to myself!

some of us have a hard time getting up on Mondays, while others enjoy books for breakfast and a peek outside to see what's happenin

time for the project to go back to school - goodbyes (through the broken screen!) for the kids, and the beginnings of lunch :)

pause from the busy work of playing to say hi to the deer...after lunch scrappin...after nap falls - it was bound to happen - he never stops - he finally fell off the couch and cracked his head on the floor - just before the kids came home - is it horrible that I wanted to go get the camera? Kayin knew though - he grabbed the camera and snapped a few pics for me :) I don't normally get snuggles...

back to playing! gives me an opportunity to start dinner - Monday is fish day - Lemon marinated Sole, asparagus with dijon dressing and rice (brown for me, white for them) A little pre-dinne playing when daddy gets home - it was friggin windy and cold - the boy has no socks on - when I came back in I saw him walking around..bugger! Dinner conversation - Roald Dahl books - kayin just finished Charlie and the Chocolate factory, starting Fantastic Mr Fox -- dinner clean up - compliments of Fred and the dishwasher tonight

some after dinner hockey with dad - Montreal wins...before bed reading..love that my kids love to read :)

Day 2 - Sunday

Day 2 - typical Sunday!!

waking up to Xander in the bed - he's a menace! Up to clean clean clean the upstairs - straighten all the rooms, gather laundry, dust, clean bathroom, vaccuum - phew...

came down to coffee and a muffin from my boys :) making a grocery list and after cleaning myself up a bit it was off for groceries - superstore and Thrifty's today - back home for lunch - the usual grocery day whole wheat Kraft dinner for the kids and sushi and salad for Fred and I - the one time we eat in the living room too - after lunch is was back to that laundry...

mid afternoon coffee break...writing the week down on the calendar - I asked Fred to take a pic and I got about 20 of these crazy ones! lol most we're blurry...and the pic of Xander's kicks give a whole new meaning to 2 left feet - the poor boy doens't stand a chance when daddy gets him dressed!

there's some of that FUN laundry! with a break midway for a diaper change...I spent an hour this afternoon fixing our duvet cover - our duvet is a queen, but they only had kings in the one I wanted, but that's what I have a sewing machine is for :) I also got two pairs of Em's jeans hemmed that were bugging me!!

dinner tonight was roast pork, potatoes, carrots and gravy .. mmm - table topic - Xander! He was not a happy camper - though he did manage to eat a fair amount off *my* plate instead of his...we almost always have desert on Sundays - it's our splurge day - Em made us vanilla shaker cupcakes with chocolate icing - yum. Sunday is also the day when Fred gets his salad stuff all chopped up for his lunches for the week, so he does dishes :)
Hockey - game 6 - Van at LA -- Fred couldn't handle the stress...went upstairs to shower and shaved his head cause he 'looked like an old bald guy' - and shaving it helped in this how?? lol
the game had just finished when he came down, so he promptly rewound it and watched...I don't get it...and I'm not going to try!! lol

A Week in the Life - Saturday

So today was my first day of doing Ali Edwards a Week in the Life project -- I wasn't sure how I was going to get enough pictures to be able to do 4 pages a day - but omg - I may need 10! this is just a glimpse of our day - I've been trying to get in front of the camera!

We were up bright and early on Saturday and off to Sidney by the Sea after the mandatory Timmies stop! :) We were really early so we made a pitstop at the park before heading to the Shaw Ocean discovery Centre - the Vancouver Aquarium it is not - but still fun - I wish it had stayed without people, but a few minutes after I snapped this pic gad of people showed up Xander loved the touch pools - he didn't want to leave

some new artwork on the green - the kids had to pose - lunch (breakfast) was at the Spitfire grill right beside the airport runways :)

home for naptime and I was off to my POTM class - the cardstock order just came in...look at all those yummy colours!!! TP run! We had run out (hasn't happened in forever!) and I forgot to grab some on the way home..oops. Spaghetti, salad and garlic bread for dinner...running late - forgot to cook noodles! oops! waiting for a pot to boil is excruciating! table topic - nuclear energy! lol

after bath (by daddy) and snuggle time (by mommy) - adult Saturday night started - Fred plays WOW with his friends and I usually plug into my ipod and get 'scrapalackin' as Fred would say - I started, but I just wasn't into it, *GASP* so it became a PPP night - Pepsi, popcorn and PVR :)
